It’s Friday, today’s band is Snowden, Indie band from America. They are set to release the somewhat greatly anticipated album in early 2011. Their 2010 EP “Slow Soft Syrup” is available for free download on their website www.snowden.info but I love this song Lemonpeel. Found this awesome artist by the name of Stacey Rozich who goes by the name of Mystery Meats, she is both cute as well as an incredible illustrator. As far as I can see from her little picture on her blog, I think she would be a lovely lady. Click those pictures and take a look at her blog, she does many more of these little characters and sweet little folk art line drawings. I promise that you will gain some pleasure from it.

As you would have guessed this and the previous post are done ENTIRELY in 3d. Nothing was shot with cameras, even the people in the film are rendered using a computer. You can see that some of the shots in the above commercial are a bit inspired by Inception. I loved this clip. So amazing what this industry has become. Excited for the future.

The Third & The Seventh from Alex Roman

Just found this short film on Vimeo, it’s both absolutely beautifully shot and creates a story from amazing architecture and the natural world. I’ll tell you a secret about the short film in the next post. It will explode your mind, and I’m sorry that it has to happen that way. Watch it and tell me what you think.

I started University, then I quit University. I shattered my foot and spent 11 days in hospital. I got two new sisters. I had an unbelievable life changing adventure through Kenya, Tanzania, Dubai, and India. I had a $5000 debt and paid the last of it of today.

On our last day in Kenya, we had an opportunity to extend our trip and to go to India on our way back to Australia. We spent just under 2 weeks in Mumbai meeting with some big name producers and production houses to chat about the film industry. My friend who I travelled with said the people we met with were like the Indian equivalent of Steven Spielberg and other producers etc. He was really nervous in the meetings but I had no idea who these people were so I didn’t care. I was singing in the board rooms and dancing on the polished marble floors. I had a great time. We were there to visit a festival known as Navatri or the “Nine Nights festival”. It was fantastic to see the traditional singing and dancing and different culture.

Mumbai was great, but it was really odd to see such extreme wealth and at the same time extreme poverty. I felt really awkward being in a chauffeured around in a fancy car then children from the slums tapping on the window for food/money.It’s such a strange and corrupt place where bribes can get you anything. In Australia or most places in the west you have to fill out this form and do this procedure to get to that thing… but in countries like India and Kenya things get done quickly and money is handed under the table. Certain people in Australia and even friends of mine must see the world and stop complaining about their insignificant problems. It’s incredible and surprising to see just how happy people are, even when they are living nothing. They are happy. It’s crazy.

In other news, I saw a dead body. No pictures obviously, it’s disrespectful.
