It’s Friday, today’s band is Snowden, Indie band from America. They are set to release the somewhat greatly anticipated album in early 2011. Their 2010 EP “Slow Soft Syrup” is available for free download on their website www.snowden.info but I love this song Lemonpeel. Watch the video then comment and tell me how crap you think the song is.
The Lovely French Busker

Check out these mystical soothing tunes, played by the lovely french busker, Fanny. We couldn’t walk past without having a chat! She is on a working/travel holiday and shares her music with the people of the city. My friend Blake asked if he could play, and she gladly obliged. The instrument is called a Hang Drum.

Found this awesome artist by the name of Stacey Rozich who goes by the name of Mystery Meats, she is both cute as well as an incredible illustrator. As far as I can see from her little picture on her blog, I think she would be a lovely lady. Click those pictures and take a look at her blog, she does many more of these little characters and sweet little folk art line drawings. I promise that you will gain some pleasure from it.

Silestone — ‘Above Everything Else’ from Alex Roman on Vimeo.
As you would have guessed this and the previous post are done ENTIRELY in 3d. Nothing was shot with cameras, even the people in the film are rendered using a computer. You can see that some of the shots in the above commercial are a bit inspired by Inception. I loved this clip. So amazing what this industry has become. Excited for the future.

The Third & The Seventh from Alex Roman
Just found this short film on Vimeo, it’s both absolutely beautifully shot and creates a story from amazing architecture and the natural world. I’ll tell you a secret about the short film in the next post. It will explode your mind, and I’m sorry that it has to happen that way. Watch it and tell me what you think.
Ps: Happy new year!

Alistair in the Forest

Shot these pictures in the State Pine Forest yesterday. We booked the shoot a few weeks previously and I had envisioned strong sunlight and dark shadows, however just like all things you have to have a backup plan in case the weather turns. The weather did in fact turn and we had overcast skies and light rain all day. Not bothered by the rain, we drove out to the forest and set up. I scouted the location a few weeks ago and found this cool road through a section of trees, I didn’t know that there had been a bushfire through there and that section was all burnt leaving black skinny trees and beautiful dry grass on the floor. I’m happy with the shoot, even though some things didn’t go to plan, everything happened for a reason and the results are in the photos below.
Model is Alistair Cooke from Smith and Jones in Sydney, makeup done by Stephanie Cooke.
